Pearl Jam's habit of pulling out obscurities from their catalog may have reached a new high last night (July 9). At the Ride Festival in Telluride, Colo., they performed "Angel," a song that they released as a Christmas single to their fan club in 1993.

Consequence of Sound found the video embedded above, and setlist.fm notes that this is only the fifth time they have ever played the song, with its last performance coming on March 13, 1994 at the New Regal Theater in Chicago. Immediately after that, they gave a full-band debut to "Society," a song by Jerry Hannan that lead singer Eddie Vedder covered on his soundtrack to the 2007 film adaptation of Jon Krakauer's non-fiction best-seller Into the Wild.

Back in May, Pearl Jam surprised a crowd in Toronto when they played their 2000 album Binaural in its entirety. A month prior, they gave the same treatment to their first two records, Vs. and Ten, in Greenville, S. C. and Philadelphia, respectively.

The band only have a few more stops remaining on their summer calendar. They will play Pemberton, British Columbia next Sunday (July 17). Then they will play two nights at Boston's Fenway Park (Aug. 5, 7) and two at Wrigley Field in Chicago (Aug. 20, 22). Although they have not released a studio album of new material since 2013's Lightning Bolt, a week and a half ago, they revealed that they will be putting out a limited edition record of their surprise concert at the Blue Room at Jack White's Third Man Records in Nashville.
