A Pine Bush was killed in a motorcycle accident after fleeing from police.

On the evening of July 5th, a Town of Newburgh police officer spotted Ryan M. Dinonno, 22, of Pine Bush on a motorcycle traveling at a high rate of speed with no helmet on. The officer activated his lights and siren in an attempt to stop Dinonno, but Dinonno failed to comply.

The officer lost sight of Dinonno and then ultimately came across the scene of an accident at a sharp curve. Dinonno lost control of his motorcycle, which resulted in serious internal injuries. Resuscitative efforts were made by officers at the scene and continued throughout his transport to St. Lukes Hospital in Newburgh, NY, where he was ultimately pronounced deceased. The accident investigation is still ongoing.

The New York State Police were assisted by the Town of Newburgh Police Department, the Town of Plattekill Police Department and the Ulster County District Attorney’s Office.
