An Ellenville woman was arrested following an 8 month investigation into heroin and prescription pill sales.

Since earlier this year, Ulster Regional Gang Enforcement Narcotics Team (URGENT) has been investigating the sale of narcotics in the Ellenville area. Katherine C. Jennings, 27, of Ellenville is accused of selling heroin and opioid prescription pills to undercover officers.

Jennings was recently indicted by an Ulster County grand jury and a warrant was subsequently issued. Jennings was arrested at her home by the Ulster County Sheriff’s Office and charged with 3rd-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance and 3rd-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, all felonies.

Jennings was taken to the Ulster County Jail pending arraignment in Ulster County Court at a later time.

The following agencies have members assigned to URGENT: Ulster County Sheriff's Office, Ulster County District Attorney's Office, Town of Woodstock Police, Town of Lloyd Police, Town of Shandaken Police, Ulster County Probation, Town of Plattekill Police, Town of Marlborough Police, Town of New Paltz Police, Village of Ellenville Police and the United States Department of Homeland Security Investigations.
