Police are asking help in finding a Hudson Valley man who they say stole a donation box from a local deli.

According to a Facebook posting from the City of Peekskill Police Department, this real-life grinch allegedly stole the donations from the Ecua American Deli on Welcher Avenue in Peekskill at approximately 8:09am last Thursday, December 10.

The donations were being collected for the Lukemia and Lymphoma Society and held $27 in quarters. It's not clear why someone would take the quarters that were clearly intended for a worthwhile cause. Most delis and convenience stores have a "take-a-penny-leave-a-penny" policy in place, but that usually doesn't apply to quarters.

Police are asking anyone who may be able to identify this man to contact the Peekskill Police Detective Division at (914)737-8000.

The first place I'd look is up on the top of Mount Crumpit, right above Whoville. He's most likely hiding out in a cave with a dog wearing antlers.
