A Hudson Valley paving contractor is under arrest for allegedly scamming customers out of money and leaving their driveways unfinished.

The Kingston Police arrested Thomas Carpino this week and charged him with Grand Larceny in the 3rd degree and Scheme to Defraud in the 1st degree. The 48-year-old Kingston man is being accused of taking money from customers for driveway paving work and then never completing the job.

Customers complained to the Ulster County Consumer Affairs Office about Carpino and his failure to make good on paving work after being paid. Those complaints were forwarded to the Ulster County District Attorney’s Office, resulting in Carpino's arrest.

Carpino was arraigned in Kingston City Court and sent to the Ulster County Jail in lieu of $20 thousand bail or $40 thousand bond.
