Police: Hudson Valley Man Found With Over 700 Doses of Heroin
A Hudson Valley man is accused of driving with thousands of dollars’ worth of heroin, enough for over 700 doses.
Following a six week investigation, investigators from the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office Drug Education and Enforcement Unit arrested 25-year-old Joseph Clark of Cairo.
Clark is accused of selling heroin in the southern part of Columbia County.
Recently, Clark was stopped in his vehicle on State Route 9G in the Town of Germantown. Clark was in possession of approximately 27 grams of raw heroin, enough to make up 700 individual doses or more with a street value of $3,000, police say.
Clark was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance and criminal possession of a controlled substance with the intent to sell, both felonies.
He was arraigned in the Town of Germantown and remanded to the Columbia County Jail pending a later court appearance.
The Sheriff’s Office was assisted in this investigation by the Columbia County District Attorney’s Office, The Capital District Drug Enforcement Administration and The Columbia County Probation Department.
