A Hudson Valley man is accused of shooting a teacher, the daughter of a cop.

On Tuesday, 22-year-old Snooze Brown of Middletown was found by police allegedly hiding out on Long Island. He was charged with two counts of attempted murder, assault, reckless endangerment and criminal possession of a weapon.

On Jan. 26, Brown opened fire while arguing with his 19-year-old girlfriend in New York City around 7 a.m. His shot missed hitting his girlfriend, but the bullet struck a 28-year-old woman.

The 28-year-old is Javion Mitchner, a second-grade teacher who was on her way to work, reports the Daily News. According to the New York Post, Mitchner is the daughter of a transit cop. She was hit in the stomach and released from the hospital.

Brown was arrested near a pharmacy in Nassau County after someone called in a tip to police. He was allegedly in possession of a loaded gun.
