A Hudson Valley woman is in jail without bail after she allegedly tried to smuggle cocaine while visiting a prisoner in the Hudson Valley.

On Saturday around 1PM, an Ulster County Sheriff’s Office corrections K-9 detected narcotics during a check of visitors at the Ulster County Jail.

The K-9 detected narcotics on 43-year-old Kelly D. Davis of Kingston and a search revealed a large quantity of cocaine hidden in her belongings, police say.

Davis was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance, criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell, felonies, and a misdemeanor of promoting prison contraband.

Davis was arraigned and remanded to the Ulster County Jail without bail to reappear in the City of Kingston Court on a later date.
