A Hudson Valley woman was arrested for allegations that she helped her boyfriend who was recently charged with sexually abusing a child.

The New York State Police Highland BCI charged 31-year-old Lindsey Scott, of Hyde Park with 4th-degree criminal facilitation, a class A misdemeanor.

The arrest comes after an investigation where police allege that Scott help her boyfriend, Joseph Sucato, violate an active order of protection that was issued to him following his arrest for sexual abuse.

In early July Sucato, 30, from Hyde Park, was accused of molesting a friend’s 11-year-old daughter while the child slept. Sucato was charged with sexual abuse, endangering the welfare of a child, criminal contempt and aggravated family offense.

At the time of the abuse, Sucato was under an active order of protection to stay away from the girl and her family.

Police say Scott helped her boyfriend by relaying messages to the victim, in violation of the order of protection. Scott’s actions and assistance enabled Sucato’s to commit the crime of aggravated family offense, officials say.

Scott was processed and released on an appearance ticket returnable to the Town of Hyde Park Court on July 28.
