Police in Kingston are investigating after a routine welfare check of a resident led to the discovery of a dead body.

Kingston Police say on January 1st around 5:15 p.m. police arrived at 164 Fair Street in the City of Kingston to check the welfare of a resident. After entering the home police discovered 38-year-old Joette Negron was dead inside the residence.

Kingston Police Detectives have began an investigation into the cause of the death. At this time police have not revealed the cause of death, nor have they ruled out foul play. A phone call to City of Kingston Police by Hudson Valley Post regarding the situation has not been returned at this time. Police say the investigation is ongoing until the cause of death has been established.
