An intoxicated Hudson Valley man with a DWI prior conviction crashed his car and left the scene, authorities said. Police followed wreckage from the car and eventually found the car with the driver stuck inside.

Spring Valley police received a report of an automobile accident and rollover on South Main Street near Singer Avenue. Officers responded to the scene and noted that an accident had taken place, but the vehicle had left the scene. Authorities followed debris from the car and located the vehicle about two blocks away in a driveway.

Police say the vehicle was heavily damaged and the driver could not get out of the car. The Spring Valley Fire Department came to the scene to assist with the extrication of the driver. The suspect was removed from the vehicle and taken to Good Samaritan Hospital for treatment from his injuries.

The driver was identified as 39-year-old Max German Coronel-Santander of Spring Valley. He was arrested and charged with a felony DWI after it was discovered he had a previous DWI conviction. He was also ticketed for other traffic violations.

Coronel-Santander was issued a ticket to appear in court on a future date.
