An intoxicated Dutchess County man is accused of hitting a police car and a second car containing 6 people.

On Sunday around 2:30 a.m., State Police in Cornwall were issuing a speeding ticket to a Honda Odyssey on the right shoulder, when the driver of a 2004 Acura hit the Troopers car and then struck the Honda.

The driver of the Acura, Jesse B. Frehling, 24, of Beacon was found to be intoxicated, officials say.

Frehling was transported to State Police in Montgomery where his blood alcohol content was allegedly determined to be 0.15%.

Frehling was charged with driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor and multiple vehicle and traffic violations.

Cornwall EMS responded and tended to the driver of the Honda and his 5 passengers. They were all transported to St. Luke’s Hospital for minor injuries. The Troopers and Frehling were uninjured.

Frehling was arraigned before the Town of Cornwall Court and released on his own recognizance to reappear on May 19.
