Police were called to the scene to investigate following a bicycle and car accident in Ulster County.

Wednesday around 4:45 p.m., members of the Ulster County Sheriff's Office and New York State Police Police responded to report of a personal injury automobile accident on Route 209 in the Town of Wawarsing involving a bicyclist.

Police say a 1998 Plymouth Voyager operated by Edwin C. Miller, 24, of Catskill was driving south on route 209 when a bicycle, operated by John J. Maloney II, of Kerhonkson, made a left turn into traffic. Miller was unable to avoid the bicyclist and hit him.

Mahoney was treated at the scene by Ellenville First Aid and Rescue Squad and transported to Ellenville Hospital with minor injuries.

Deputies were assisted at the scene by members of the New York State Police, Kerhonkson-Accord Rescue Squad, and the Ellenville First Aid.
