Newburgh Police Chief Mike Clancy said that a resident of the home at 88 Powder Mill Road was arrested and charged with felony weapons possession and warrants issued on separate locations in an investigation that involves state police and the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosive, the Times Herald Record reports. 

Police responding to a report of shots fired from the house discovered dozens of weapons, including military-style assault weapons, Michael Petrosino was arrested over the weekend and charged with second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, a felony, according to the article.

Clancy said the weapons cache included legal and illegal guns, the report stated.

"There are enough high-caliber weapons there to arm two SWAT teams," Clancy told the Times Herald Record.
