New York State Police have made an arrest in connection with the 2015 burglary of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Shrine.

Police arrested Joseph Dearinger, age 36, of Middletown and charged him with third-degree burglary.

Police were able to identify Dearinger after the crime lab matched fingerprints recovered at the scene to Dearinger's. Dearinger's fingerprints were in the system, as he served a one to three year prison sentence after a 2010 conviction of attempted third-degree burglary.

Dearinger was arraigned in the Town of Wallkill Court and remanded to Orange County Jail in lieu of $30,000 cash or $120,000 secured bond.
