Police are on the hunt for a man accused of sexually assaulting a number of sleeping Hudson Valley college students.

According to New Paltz Police, on Sunday around 5:45 a.m., a man entered a SUNY New Paltz female’s off-campus apartment in the Village of New Paltz and sexually assaulted her as she slept. The victim was able to wake up and fend off the suspect who then fled the area.

As police investigated they learned of two other similar incidents that occurred at other apartments. In those incidents, the suspect fled after he was spotted by the alleged victims.

Police say the suspect is described as a Hispanic male, approximately 5’9” to 6’0” with a medium build. It’s believed the man is in his 20s.

The New Paltz Police Department is being assisted in the investigation by the SUNY New Paltz Police Department, the Ulster County SANE Unit and the New York State Police.
