Police arrested a New Jersey man in Ulster County for allegedly using fake documents in attempt to obtain a cellphone and coverage.

Ulster Police charged 25-year-old Franklyn Martinez, of Passaic, New Jersey with 2 counts of criminal possession of a forged instrument, a felony, and criminal impersonation, a misdemeanor.

Officials say, Martinez used a forged New Jersey Driver License to acquire a cellphone and cell service from an AT&T store located at 1137 Ulster Avenue in the Town of Ulster.

Martinez was arraigned in the Town of Ulster Justice Court and remanded to the Ulster County Jail in lieu of $5,000. cash bail or $10,000 secured bail bond. He is due to appear in the Town of Ulster Justice Court at a later date.

The investigation is continuing and more charges are possible.
