Tinted windows led to an Orange County man’s arrested for allegedly bringing heroin and other drugs, along with a loaded high-capacity gun to Dutchess County.

On Wednesday, New York State Police from the Wappinger barracks arrested 27-year-old Marise J. Hamilton of Newburgh for 3rd-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a class B felony, second-degree criminal use of drug paraphernalia, possession of a large capacity ammo feeding device, aggravated unlicensed operation and unlawful possession of marijuana.

Around 12:40 p.m. on Wednesday, State Police stopped a car on Route 9 by Smithtown Road for dark tinted windows. The driver, Hamilton, was found to have a suspended driver's license, police say.

A subsequent investigation allegedly revealed that Hamilton possessed heroin, marijuana, a digital scale and a high-capacity handgun magazine.

Hamilton was arraigned at the Town of Wappinger Court. He was remanded to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $7,500 cash bail or $15,000 bond.
