A Poughkeepsie man traveling on a gasoline-powered bicycle, with previous DWI related charges, was arrested by New York State Police.

State Troopers patrolling Vassar Road in Poughkeepsie allege they observed a gasoline powered bicycle failing to maintain its designated lane of travel. The bicycles operator, 51-year-old Donald P. Goeller, of Poughkeepsie, was found to be intoxicated when interviewed by police.

A license check revealed that Goeller has had his license revoked four times due to DWI related charges dating back to 1999. Goeller provided police with a positive breath sample that revealed a Blood Alcohol Content of .19 percent, more than two times the legal limit of intoxicated.

Goeller was charged with aggravated unlicensed operation, a felony, and aggravated driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor. He was issued traffic tickets ordering him to appear before the Town of Poughkeepsie Court on Feb. 16.
