Following reports of a woman being dragged in Newburgh, two men were arrested for allegedly possessing crack cocaine, PCP and a loaded gun.

On Thursday, City of Newburgh Police received a 911 call reporting that a woman was dragged by a man who had a gun into a home on Carson Street. When police arrived three men fled from the back of the building.

Officers, with the help of K-9 Bella, were able to find and arrest two of the men. The third man is still at large.

Police checked the home but couldn’t find the reported victim or anyone else inside. A search warrant was requested after officers allegedly spotted drugs inside the home.

The search warrant led to the discovery of around 24 grams of suspected crack cocaine, a mason jar containing suspected PCP, heroin packaging material and a digital scale, authorities say. A loaded semi‐automatic handgun was recovered in a neighboring yard.

Lamar Bennerman, 23, and 24-year-old Steven Hall were arrested. Hall is facing several felony drug charges. Bennerman was arrested for an outstanding parole warrant and is expected to also receive felony drug charges.

Bennerman listed the home as his residence, but it appears the location is only used to sell drugs, police say.
