An Ulster County man was arrested over allegations that he imprisoned his girlfriend on more than one occasion.

New Paltz police charged 26-year-old Filrod Favor of New Paltz with first-degree unlawful imprisonment, a felony, and second-degree unlawful imprisonment, two counts criminal mischief, reckless endangerment and menacing, misdemeanors.

Early Wednesday morning, New Paltz Police responded to a residence on South Chestnut Street in the Village of New Paltz for a report of a past domestic dispute.

When the officers arrived, they were told that a woman left the home after an incident with her boyfriend, Favor.

Police say they determined that Favor physically imprisoned his girlfriend and threw items at her. Authorities also learned that Favor allegedly used a knife to hold the victim captive in July.

Favor was found inside the home, interviewed, and arrested without incident.

Favor was arraigned in Town of New Paltz Court and remanded to the Ulster County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash bail or bond.

An order of protection was issued.

Favor is scheduled to appear in the Town of New Paltz Court late Wednesday for a preliminary hearing.
