4 upper Hudson Valley residents were arrested after police say they found a large amount of heroin near a young child.

New York State Police at Catskill arrested 28-year-old Rebecca Loucks, Brandon Leonard, 31, Jason Jenes, 44, and 35-year-old Brigid Jenes all from the Town of Durham for 3rd-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance with the intent to sell, a felony, 7th-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, and endangering the welfare of a child, misdemeanors

Leonard was also charged with unlawful possession of marijuana and had a warrant for a felony probation violation.

Police say that a search warrant was conducted which resulted in the recovery of more than 200 packets of heroin that was packaged for sale. At the time of the search warrant, an 8 year old girl was found inside the home, very close to the drugs.

All four subjects were arraigned in the Town of Durham Court and remanded to the Greene County Jail in lieu of $100,000 bail or 200,000 bond.

The search warrant was a result of a two month long investigation into drug sales in the Town of Durham, which was conducted by the New York State Police, in conjunction with the Greene County District Attorney’s Office, the Town of Durham Police Department and the Greene County Sheriff Department.
