According to the Times Herald Record, 28-year-old Eric F. Salamone, a Port Ewen resident, has been charged with two felonies after state police say they found eighty-one bags of heroin in his car, along with other controlled substances.

It isn't clear why the police initially stopped him in the Town of Ulster, but once they did, the New York State Police say they found him to be in the possession of a stun gun, cocaine, marijuana, almost $3,800 in cash, heroin, and fireworks.

According to the Times Herald Record, the New York State Police have charged Salamone with third and fourth degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, both felonies; seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, both misdemeanors; as well as unlawful possession of marijuana and fireworks, both violations.

Salamone has been arraigned in Town of Marbletown Court and sent to Ulster County Jail in lieu of $20,000 cash bail or $40,000 bond, pending further court action, the Times Herald Record reports.
