It wasn't a great homecoming for Marist students when they arrived back on campus this week and found one of their favorite late night eateries closed.

Pleasant Ridge Pizza, more commonly known as P-Ridge Pizza suddenly shut down this summer. Located just short walk from campus on North Road in the town of Poughkeepsie P-Ridge catered to the late night crowds and was a staple to Marist students (I would know!).

There is a small light at the end of the tunnel as a new restaurant has already moved in and set up shop. Gia's Pizza seems to have picked up right where P-Ridge left off, even offering students some of the old classics formerly found on the P-Ridge menu.

None the less it is sad to see another local favorite shut it's doors. P-Ridge is not only a loss to students, it's a loss to the community.
