After filming seasons in Germany and South Africa, season six of this popular Showtime program will be filmed in New York. Entertainment Weekly reports Homeland will film in the area for the first time since the inception of the show. That's not to say there won't be scenes in other areas, but the primary location is in and around New York City.

Homeland broke new ground for season five by becoming the first US series to film an entire season in Berlin, Germany. The show began in 2001 and follows Claire Daines as Carrie Mattison, a CIA operative with a few issues. Damien Lewis plays Nicholas Brody, a Marine who was captured by Al-Qaeda. Daine's character believes Lewis has been turned by the enemy.

Homeland has been nominated for numerous awards and won several awards.

The sixth season was just confirmed to be happening in December of 2015.
