High-speed chases rarely have happy endings, but at least this one involves candy.

New Jersey State Police reported that on Tuesday afternoon, Samuel Bompane, 22, of Brooklyn was involved in a verbal altercation, which led to his speeding away from the scene.

After being noticed by New Jersey State Troopers for his high rate of speed, he led them on a 25 mile chase, proceeding to pass vehicles on the shoulder until he struck another car, causing it to overturn and inflicting injury upon the 42-year-old female driver.

Upon apprehending Mr. Bompane, a search of his vehicle resulted in some interesting discoveries:

including more than 10 pounds of marijuana, 80 pounds of marijuana candy, hashish oil, prescription drugs, and a variety of drug paraphernalia including scales, currency counters, plastic bags, and smoking pipes. The drugs are valued at more than $100,000. Additionally, Bompane had approximately $35,000 in currency in the Florida registered car.

He has been charged with Driving while intoxicated and other motor vehicle summonses, Aggravated assault with a vehicle, Possession with intent to distribute: Marijuana Cocaine Psilocybin (mushrooms) and Hashish, Drug paraphernalia, and Possession of MDMA (ecstasy). Bompane is in Monmouth County Jail on $725,000 full cash bail.

Doesn't sound like your typical Tuesday afternoon (I hope).
