The City of Poughkeepsie has made a decision to expand free parking into city-owned surface lots on Saturday. This means, parking will be free all weekend.  The Mayor Rob Rolison says parking is already free on Sunday, so it makes sense to expand this into Saturday.

"We’re focused on making it more convenient and inviting for visitors who choose to avail themselves of all Poughkeepsie has to offer," Rolison says. "From dining and entertainment to arts and leisure, from our waterfront to our city parks, there are many reasons to visit Poughkeepsie, now free weekend parking is one of them.”

Parking remains free all weekend for on-street parking. Parking regulations remain in effect for all other areas, including no-parking zones and alternate side parking rules. The mayor welcomes public comments on the parking changes and is interested in whether they should be permanent. Residents can send an email to mayor@cityofpoughkeepsie.com
