It's been a tough week for the now former Golden Corral in Poughkeepsie. On Monday it was announced they would be closed until further notice. Now comes word they are under investigation by the New York State Department of Labor.

The Poughkeepsie Journal reports Cullen Burnell, acting communications director at the Department of Labor, confirmed there is an open investigation into the Golden Corral in Poughkeepsie. An ex-employee claims they went unpaid and in fact multiple employees reportedly were unable to collect wages owed.

The location appeared to be plagued by issues before even opening their doors. Multiple delays were followed by a temporary closure in February after their soft opening in January. Authorities responded to reports of a fight over NFL Championship weekend and just last month there were reports of a supposed overdose in the men's bathroom.

So the question is, what's next for the Poughkeepsie Golden Corral location? One local DJ thinks the answer is White Castle.
