You can thank some guy in Poughkeepsie for Billy Joe's guest appearance on CBS.

A much-hyped cameo appearance by Billy Joel was the main plot point on Monday night's episode of "Kevin Can Wait." The CBS sitcom, starring Kevin James, centered around Kevin having to make a decision between spending time with his family or going to see Billy Joel perform at Madison Square Garden with his friends.

After finding out his friends have scored tickets to the sold out Billy Joel concert, Kevin has to weasel his way out of family game night. It's not the most original sitcom plot, but how Kevin's friends wind up getting the concert tickets is actually the most interesting part.

Kevin's brother takes their group of friends on a ride to the Hudson Valley on a quest to get the sold out tickets. Their journey takes them to a "rest stop in Poughkeepsie" where they finally score the seats. If you missed the show, here's the reference and Billy Joel's appearance on the show:

Now, if you're wondering where that Poughkeepsie rest stop is, you're not alone. The Queen City isn't exactly close any highway that would even have a rest stop, so it looks like the writers took a little creative license with the location. But we'll forgive them if that means our town gets to be responsible for a rare Billy Joel cameo appearance.
