He is among the highest paid university presidents in the country, pulling in over $775,000 in 2013.

Dennis Murray, the current president of Marist College ranks 67 in a list of the highest paid university chief executives in the country. The Poughkeepsie Journal reports that President Murray earned a base pay of $480,365 in 2013, but his total compensation for the year was $775,446.

The figures are from a survey by The Chronicle of Higher Education which also names to other Hudson Valley presidents on the list. Vassar College President Catharine Bond Hill is further down the list at 106. Hill pulled in $522,065 in 2013 while Bard College President Leon Botstein earned $415,909 putting him at number 237 on the list.

Murray recently announced that he will be stepping down as president of Marist in June of 2016. No one has been named as a replacement just yet, but with the 67th highest salary in the country there's sure to be plenty of applicants for the position.
