It has come to mine and Deuce's attention that there are comings that are trying to pawn off "artifical pumpkin spice" as real pumpkin spice.

Shocking, right? Imposters be warned, we are on to you. This whole thing came to our attention (our easily distracted attention mind you, oh look shiny thing) after reading an article from Lindsay Malone with the Cleveland Clinic. She says that you should check the label before you buy any product and avoid ones that have added sugar.

What's in Pumpkin Pie Spice?
If you go the store-bought route, pumpkin pie spice blends can vary by manufacturer, but typically contain the more sweet-smelling spices, like cinnamon, nutmeg, clove, and ginger. Allspice and mace are also common ingredients.

Want to make your own?

Ingredients
1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
1 1/2 teaspoons ground ginger
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/8 teaspoon ground cloves

Assemble the above ingredients in a small container, mix with a fork to break up any lumps. Store in an air-tight container. Make in small batches as needed.

Feel free to change the proportions to suit your own tastes, maybe you might like stronger cinnamon flavor add a little more of that. If you would like it to be a bit more spicy, add a bit more ginger.
