You want have to travel all the way to the North Pole to enjoy the Polar Express this year, the Hudson Valley has one of its own.

Once again run by the Catskill Mountain Railroad, you can come experience the Polar Express is Kingston starting on November 17th. Trains will run through December 28th but you'll want to start booking your tickets now as many rides sold out last year.

The book by Chris Van Allsburgh came first and has been a big holiday tradition for many families since it was released back in 1985. The Warner Brothers movie starring Tom Hanks brought the story to life in 2004. The Kingston experience is officially licensed and includes much of what you'll see in the movie or read in the book.

The conductor will punch everyone's tickets and hot chocolate will be served on board. There is a sing along and Van Allsburgh's story will be read aloud. Most importantly, the trip included a visit with Santa, so be prepared.

Located right off exit 19 off the New York State Thruway, trains board in the Kingston Plaza.
