The only thing I ever expect from Radiohead is that they'll be awesome. And they never fail.

We knew there was a new album on the way, and a possible world tour, and there was some chatter about them filming a video, but I really hadn't heard much noise that a new song was coming today.

And that makes this so much sweeter.

Haunting and creepy, with amazing background. It's almost as if it could be the intro to a british creepy crime show on BBC. The slashing, dischordant violins at the end only underscore an almost violent vibe, completely in contrast to Thom York's soaring falsetto.

And here's something even more incredible. It appears that the idea for this song, it's title and maybe even some lyrics have been around for over 13 years.

"Burn the Witch" refers to an Radiohead unreleased song that is at least 13 years old; the first mention of the track appeared in Stanley Donwood's art for 2003's Hail to the Thief. In 2005, "Burn the Witch" reemerged on a chalkboard bearing the song titles of potential tracks destined for the band's 2007 LP In Rainbows.

Thom Yorke teased performing the song during a few concerts in the lead-up and wake of In Rainbows, but a full version of the track has never been played. However, in February 2007, Yorke posted the song's lyrics on Radiohead's Dead Air Space site, including the line "Sing the song of sixpence that goes 'Burn the witch."

That's Lost type stuff right there. The video is creepy, the song is haunting. And I couldn't be happier. Welcome back, Radiohead!
