For the first time in many years, the rare and fouling smelling corpse flower is set to bloom at the New York Botanical Gardens.

Amorphophallus titanum is native to Sumatra and is one of the largest flowers in the world. One spokesperson describes the noxious flower in detail as a fleshy central spike called a spadix that holds two rings of male and female flowers, wrapped by the frilly spathe, a modified leaf that resembles a petal.

If you're planning on seeing the unusual plant, then you're going to want to do it soon. The flower is only expected to be in bloom for a few days.

The smell is the actually flower's way to attract pollinators that eat dead animals.

However, if the smell is too much for you then simply watch right here on the special live cam.
