R.E.M and MTV are celebrating their anniversary, of over 3 decades together. Here's how they are planning to do just that and share it with you. R.E.M. and MTV both launched in the summer of 1981, and now the band is celebrating their three decades together.  The group -- which disbanded in 2011 -- has announced plans to release a six-disc DVD box set dubbed "REMTV."  The collection includes both of R.E.M.'s "Unplugged" performances, a number of other live gigs from around the world, and a new feature-length documentary.  Dubbed "R.E.M. by MTV," Alexander Young's film uses archival footage to "trace R.E.M. and MTV in real time."  "REMTV" is available to pre-order now, and will be released November 24th.
