More traffic delays coming soon.

If you live or travel thru the Town of Fishkill, you may want to use an alternate route coming up next week as paving of Jackson street begins.

The Dutchess County Department of Public Works has announced that work will begin next week to pave about a half of mile of road on Jackson St in Fishkill from from State Route 52/Main Street to Osborne Hill Road, according to a DPW press release.

The DPW says that Jackson Street averages approximately 10,000 vehicles per day and that work may cause significant traffic delays, particularly during peak commute times in the morning and evening. They are asking motorists to seek alternate routes, plan for additional commute time, and obey posted speed limits, traffic advisory signs, and directions from flaggers in the work zone to ensure the safety of workers and other motorists.

The paving will begin on Monday, August 8th and they hope to be done by Friday, August 12th, weather permitting.
