Sadly life can change in an instance and it's not always for the better. That's exactly what happened to Ryan, a young Hudson Valley resident just short two years ago. Then 23, Ryan was kidnapped just outside of his home, beaten, forced into the trunk of his own vehicle and nearly blinded by bleach while his assailants brutalized and robbed a Hyde Park bank.

Most of the criminals responsible have been locked away and some may say justice was served but for the victims of this horrible crime the battle is far from over. Thankfully Ryan and his family have seen great support these last few years and it continues to grow. Ryan's mother Erin says they are so thankful for all the community has done for their family.

"I'm both stunned and grateful by the outpouring of support for my son. There will always be serious challenges ahead because of this crime, but literally thousands of people in our community are lending a hand to lessen his burden, and words cannot adequately express my gratitude and awe for this kindness and compassion. After such a horrific crime, it's beautiful to see that there is far more good than evil in this world. I continue to see it, each and every day."

Erin says the idea for the upcoming benefit actually came from someone in the community, suggesting a concert to help raise funds, so Rockin' 4 Ryan was born. The event is an amazing benefit concert which aims to raise money and awareness. The funds raised will go to Mental Heath America of Dutchess County, which continues to help Ryan who still struggles after this horrific ordeal. Mental Heath America of Dutchess County is an amazing organization that has not only helped Ryan and his family through this hard time but helps countless others throughout Dutchess County.
