Sally Beauty Supply has confirmed that the company has suffered a second date breach in just over a year. The Denton, TX based company announced earlier this week that it was investigating  “reports of unusual activity” on credit cards used for payment at some of Sally Beauty’s U.S. stores. In a statement released Monday company officials said

“Since learning of these reports, we have been working with law enforcement and our credit card processor and have launched a comprehensive investigation with the help of a leading third-party forensics expert to aggressively gather facts while working to ensure our customers are protected,”

According to the Associated Press the beauty supplier declined to comment after the breach was confirmed other than stating customers won’t be responsible for fraudulent charges that are promptly reported. This is the second confirmed security breach for the company in just over a year, the last in March 2014. There are several Sally Beauty locations throughout the Hudson Valley including two in Poughkeepsie, two in Newburgh as well as locations in Middletown, Monroe and Kingston.

Those with concerns their credit cards may have been compromised can call a customer service hotline at 1-866-234-9442 or email customerserviceinquirysallybeauty.com.
