I hope you didn't miss me too much while I was gone but if it makes things better I have a great new adventure to share. This time we head to the West Indies to the sunny isle of Jamaica. Ya' Mon.

I know what you're thinking....weren't you just on vacation? And the simple answer is, yes. As you know I love to travel and often times because of my work schedule I have to jam all my travels into a few months. Now I'm not complaining of course, it's a great time, new adventures and I get to share with you. Just don't want you expecting a new adventure every month...I wish!

For my latest adventure I headed to back to Jamaica and although I've visited this very friendly island a time or two before this time I headed to a new spot, Negril. Now if you don't know a ton about Jamaica (other than what I know you know about Jamaica) then you should know there are three main "tourist" areas or cities. There is Montego Bay (where the airport is, a good value spot), Ocho Rios (more in the mountain area, smaller beaches but great lush vegetation) and Negril which is known for having some of the most beautiful beaches in the Caribbean.

The ride from the airport deters a lot of people from visiting Negril, about an hour 15 mins from the airport but in my opinion absolutely worth it. I'm talking  white fluffy sand and clam clear blue water. One note I will say about the beaches is that although the beaches are fantastic they have take a little bit of a hit after several hurricanes, again still gorgeous but if you've been in the past they have changed a little.

The beach area where I stayed was perfect for me. I was in an area called Bloody Bay at Couples Negril. Don't let the name fool you this body of water was just up my ally. I like the more cove-like beaches where there are less people, less peddlers and warm, calm seas. This was the perfect spot for that. If you like a longer beach, maybe a littler wider, then I would suggest heading to Seven Mile Beach which in the past was know as one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. There are some resort areas that were more affected by the hurricanes than others so if you're looking for the better beach area I'd suggest Couples Swept Away for...you guessed it...couples. Other adults can venture there as well but it's not a place to find someone to "hook" up with...that's down the beach at Hedonism II but we wont go there. Moving on!

Lets talk about the area it'self. Some great attractions are in Jamaica, for Negril their most famous, aside from their beaches is Rick's Cafe. Rick's has been around for over 30 years, a staple for food, music, the view oh and did I mention the cliff diving. The day we went for a visit it was a bit stormy so we didn't get to see the professional divers jump from the highest point which is about 80 feet (I have a youtube video below for you to check out) but there were plenty of tourists taking the plunge from a "safer" spot which was about 35 feet. Yes it's dangerous but even if you don't participate you have to see how amazing it is. One tip I can offer is to try and plan to go around the weather. Sun is always preferred and you'll want to get there with plenty of time to enjoy the scenery, the diving, food and the amazing sunset. Then feel free to hang out after the sun goes down and enjoy some live music and/or party into the night. A must do for sure.

Another must do for your trip to Jamaica is a little insider tip. It's called Club MoBay and it's amazing. Club MoBay is like a fast pass at the airport. When you get off the plane you're greeted by a representative who will fast track you through immigration and customs and then whisks to off to an arrival lounge where you can enjoy some refreshing rum punch or a red stripe while you await you ride to the resort. But that's not all! On the way back you get to do it again. Club MoBay will fast track you through security then take you to a departure lounge where you can enjoy tons of yummy food and a full bar. They have an adult only lounge, family lounge, quiet lounge, showers and even a little spa! Rub downs are extra. But it's a great way to avoid the hassles (the best you can) of the airport and avoid a hefty bill at the airport bar ($15 for a beer!) Not in Club Mobay, it's free, you're welcome.

So there you have it, Negril, Jamaica in a nutshell. I hope my little insider tips will help you fast track your way to your vacation, help you find your perfect beach and allow you to take in some amazing experiences. But before we wrap up I have one last piece of advice and it's the most important one, just enjoy Jamaica for what it is. They have some of the amazing food, some of the most friendliest people and of course stunning beaches. Jamaica often get's a bad wrap but hey so does Poughkeepsie. So please don't let that stop you from living, from experiencing all the adventures that await you, even if it's not in Jamaica. Now enjoy my pictures and if you ever have any questions on my adventures just give me a shout. Ya' mon!
