A Saugerties man was arrested for attempted burglary, resisting arrest, and a number of other charges for violating an order of protection.

Town of Ulster Police say they responded to an unwanted person’s complaint in the hamlet of Glenerie in the Town of Ulster on Saturday around 5:45 a.m. An investigation determined that 35-year-old Robert Potter Sr, of Saugerties violated a full stay away order of protection and entered a residence he was prohibited from.

Potter was charged with 2nd degree attempted burglary, a felony, 4th degree criminal mischief, obstruction of governmental administration, resisting arrest, and four counts of 2nd-degree criminal contempt, all misdemeanors.

Potter was arraigned in the Town of Ulster Court and remanded to the Ulster County Jail en lieu of $10,000 cash bail. He is scheduled to re appear in Ulster Court on March 9, 2016.
