With Halloween around the corner, Senator Chuck Schumer is warning parents about the dangers of face makeup. Schumer says Halloween makeup is often made in China and can contain unlisted chemicals such as lead and nickel.

According to the CDC, even low levels of lead have been shown to affect a child's IQ, ability to pay attention and academic achievement. Schumer points out that while lead is banned from makeup in Canada and Europe, it is not currently banned in the U.S. Schumer is calling on the FDA to regulate such products. Until then, the Democrat is urging parents to avoid buying makeup made in China.
