Scott Weiland, the former lead singer for Stone Temple Pilots and Velvet Revolver, was found dead on his tour bus tonight, according to reports. He was 48.

Billboard and TMZ are both reporting the news, but are waiting official confirmation, and Dave Navarro was tweeting earlier tonight that he had just learned the news of Weiland's passing.

TMZ is reporting that Scott was found on the band's tour bus just before they were about to take the stage.

Weiland had a history of addiction, but had stated in 2014 that those days were far in his past.

We'll update this story as it evolves.
