Baseball season is just a few days away and what better way to start things off than by joking around with a major league pitcher?

It's certainly not an understatement to say that we glorify athletes. Billions of dollars are spent (and made) every year covering sports and elevating athletic heroics to Greek god proportions.

What we don't get a chance to see is that some of them are funny, interesting guys, even aside from all the sports. Gentleman, scholar, and fellow beard aficionado Sean Doolittle took the time to talk to talk to me and it was a lot of fun. He also happens to be the set-up man for the AL West Division champion Oakland A's.

We talk about how everything in the 60s was insane, how I traveled through time to influence a major life decision of his, and how he's going to get me a job as a relief pitcher in the big leagues.

Plus, after making a reference to 1980s Mets slugger Dave Kingman in last week's interview with Rob Fee, I decided to try to sneak one in this week, too.

Enjoy! It's a fun one.
