Severe Thunderstorm Watch in Effect for the Hudson Valley

The National Weather Service has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch until 7PM for the following counties in New York state:

• DUTCHESS
• ESSEX
• FRANKLIN
• FULTON
• GREENE
• HAMILTON
• HERKIMER
• MONTGOMERY
• ORANGE
• OTSEGO
• PUTNAM
• RENSSELAER
• SARATOGA
• SCHENECTADY
• SCHOHARIE
• SULLIVAN
• ULSTER
• WARREN
• WASHINGTON

Scattered strong to sever thunderstorms are expected to develop across the region early Thursday afternoon and move towards the Hudson Valley. The primary threats are strong damaging winds and hail. While unlikely, there is always a chance for an isolated tornado with these storms.
