A pair of sister-in-law’s were arrested after they allegedly fought in Saugerties. Police say a 7-year-old was injured during the altercation.

State Police from Kingston responded to a 911 call for a dispute on Emerick Road in Saugerties. Upon arrival police say they found sister-in-law’s, 45-year-old Donna L. Smith, of Tannersville and Michelle Salerno, 31, of Saugerties, with injuries.

Officials say the injuries occurred from an altercation between each other over a family dispute. During the investigation police allege that Smith also injured Salerno’s 7-year-old daughter. The child suffered a blood lip.

Smith was charged with endangering the welfare of a child, a misdemeanor, and given a violation for 2nd-degree harassment. Salerno was charged with 2nd-degree harassment, a violation.

Both were issued appearance tickets to the Town of Saugerties Court on April 4 for their respective charges and released on their own recognizance.
