Hormel Foods Corp is recalling a 153 cases of SKIPPY® Reduced Fat Creamy Peanut Butter Spread, due to the possibility that some jars may contain small pieces of metal shavings which were discovered on an in-line magnet check during routine cleaning. The company says the metal fragments came from an equipment malfunction. That malfunction has been fixed.

No other sizes, varieties or other packaging configurations of SKIPPY® brand peanut butter or peanut spreads are included in this recall.

The recall only involves the Skippy's Reduced Fat Creamy Peanut Butter Spread. The recall is limited to the 16.3 ounce jars of the product. The affected jars have a "Best If Used By" date of DEC1416LR1. They also have a UPC code of 37600-10500.
