Smashing Pumpkins frontman Billy Corgan has been incredibly busy lately. In addition to working on his new solo album Ogilala and gearing up for a tour, it looks like he's been quietly working on a short film to go along with the album. Corgan co-directed the short with Linda Strawberry, who has toured with Smashing Pumpkins in the past and directed the video for "Run2Me" in 2016.

The short is called Pillbox and you can check out the trailer for it here. It's only a minute-long trailer, but this thing looks bonkers. In that short span, you've got war imagery, martial arts, a guy forging metal against an anvil, and a trippy space journey that looks like the cover of Melon Collie and the Infinite Sadness. The short is being taken on a small tour to a few major cities, and it's coming to New York on October 12th at the Tribeca Screening Room. Both Corgan and Strawberry will be in attendance for the screening, too.

And that will be a big couple of days for Corgan. The very next day, the 13th, is the release date for Ogilala. And then he's playing two shows on the 14th and 15th to kick off his tour in support of the album at the Murmrr Theatre in Brooklyn. If you're a Smashing Pumpkins fan in the area, that's going to be one hell of a week. Tickets for the Pillbox screening go on sale Friday. Tickets for the shows in Brooklyn are on sale now.
