The Hudson Valley may be hit with another snow storm this afternoon.

Luckily for most it's just going to be a dusting or as Accuweather.com puts it, a squall. Today, sunny skies will lead to clouds with a flurry or heavy squall in the afternoon. There’s a 55 percent chance of snow in Poughkeepsie and Newburgh. 58 percent chance of precipitation in Kingston. The chance of snow increases to 70 percent in Putnam Valley.

Some snow will last until nightfall. But as a cold front moves in snow will taper off, especially after midnight. In total the Hudson Valley is only expected to see half an inch to an inch of the white stuff.

The high today will be in the mid-thirties, which is normal for this time of year. The record high for January 12th, 58 degrees, which was set in 1980. The record low for this date is -20 degrees. This ironically enough was set  in 1981, just one year after the record high for this date.
