Earlier in the week I posted about the hunt for a person wanted by police in Ulster County but now thanks to social media that hunt is over!

According to the Ellenville Police Department they have been searching for an individual wanted for numerous incidents in the Village for repeated acts of Graffiti (tagging). Officials say the investigation has been ongoing for over three years but after a recent post to social media they've caught the perp!

Ellenville Police announced today that they have arrested 21 year old Ryan Wells after discovering hundreds of pictures displaying the acts of graffiti on social media accounts. It was not reveled if police were tipped off to the individual or the accounts after police posted a request for public assistance on their own facebook page.

Police say the acts of Criminal Mischief have caused thousands of dollars’ worth of damage in the Village of Ellenville as well as adjoining towns and cities in Ulster, Sullivan and Orange counties.

According to Hudson Valley News Network the suspect has been charged with Criminal Mischief in the 3rd degree, a felony; several dozen counts of the Misdemeanor offense of Making Graffiti, and Possession of Graffiti instruments.
