Mike Doughty has an incredible history. Once the frontman for Soul Coughing, his story is long and quite murky at times. What has come out at the end is a soulful, cutting edge artist who can be stripped down and basic, while still writing songs with so much depth it's hard to track where they're going. And they're the same song!

I fell in love with Mike's sound with his first 2005 solo release "Haughty Melodic". I've been an avid follower of him since, and every album has grown and evolved into the dynamic artist he is today. Every song can be different, but they all work together.

"Light Will Keep Your Heart Beating In The Future" came out in 2014. It might be one of the catchiest songs I've ever listened to.

Honestly, this song will want to make you buy to tickets to his show as soon as possible. Mike tours pretty frequently, and just wrapped up a tour with Big Head Todd and the Monsters. He was at the Capitol Theater in Port Chester in February, so if he kicks off another tour I'm pretty sure he'll be around.
